When our fourth child was placenta previa, my obstetrician saved my life by knowing immediately what needed to be done and what not to do. She safely delivered our 2lb 12oz baby by emergency caesarian surgery. When we were expecting our fifth child 4 years later, I called to make an appointment and found that she was no longer a practicing obstetrician because she did not want to perform abortions and was afraid the government would force her to. Sbe had switched to gynocology instead. She said her training wa to save lives; not kill. I had to find another obstetrician, but fortunately there were no problems with the birth.
