When I was applying for residency in ob/gyn I was informed by 2 different department chairmen that if I was unwilling to perform abortions, I was not a candidate for their program. This question was specifically asked during my interviews. If the HHS rules are stuck down by the current administration,it is likely that discrimination by residency programs will increase. The number of physicians with a moral objection to abortion will fall precipitously.
